IN WHOM DO YOU PUT YOUR TRUST?: 22/3/2020

HIPI: THE GLORY DEVOTIONAL

2 Thessalonians 3:3 – But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.

God can be relied upon in every season. He is trustworthy. Your faith, confidence and trust can be placed completely in God. He will not let you down.

In whom do you place your trust? Though man’s allegiance may sway, though his alliance, opinion and thought of you may shift — God’s Word will never change. God will never leave you nor forsake you. God is faithful and He will guide your footsteps. Choose to trust God. Place your hope in His Hands.

Maybe you’ve placed your hope and trust in things. Maybe you’ve placed your trust in your wealth or in your job, health, strength, intelligence, skills, network, status, family, pastor, influence, etc. Choose to have faith and trust in God who is Lord over all.

Even during such trying and difficult times, lets rely and depend on God, for He is trustworthy. Let’s give Him our undivided trust and confidence for He has promised to keep us strong and safe from any harm of the evil one.

PRAYER:
Gracious Heavenly Father, I worship You for You’re faithful and trustworthy. You never ever fail nor disappoint. I choose to whole heartedly trust You and Your ways because Your ways are good. Father continue to strengthen and protect me from every harm. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

A MAGNET OF GOD’S GOODNESS

HIPI: THE GLORY DEVOTIONAL

Deuteronomy 28:1-2 If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:

When you honor God with your life, keeping Him in first place, He puts something on you called a “commanded blessing.”

The commanded blessing is like a magnet. It attracts the right people, good breaks, favour, ideas, resources, and influence. You don’t have to go after these things, trying to make something happen in your own strength or talent. All you have to do is keep honoring God, and the right people will find you. The right opportunities will come across your path. The favor, the wisdom, and the vindication will track you down.

Out of nowhere, a good break comes. Suddenly, your health improves. Out of the blue, you’re able to pay off your debts. Unexpectedly, a dream comes to pass. That’s not a coincidence. That’s the commanded blessing on your life. Why? Because you’ve honoured and obeyed the Lord and your ways are pleasing to Him. So, you’ve become a magnet for God’s goodness.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, thank You for the power of Your commanded blessing. Thank You for Your promise that as I honour and obey You, I become a magnet of your goodness, blessings are headed my way, tracking me down and overtaking me. I believe that I have become a magnet for Your goodness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Finding Rest : 20/3/2020

HIPI: THE GLORY DEVOTIONAL

Mathew 11:28- “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”.

We all go through seasons of struggle with our finances, our health, or our relationships. Too often we lose our enthusiasm, hope, confidence and think it’s never going to change.

In Matthew 11, Jesus was saying that there will be seasons where you have to stand strong and fight the good fight of faith. But a few verses later He said, “My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” He was saying that you’re going to go through times of difficulty, but that’s not permanent.

You may be struggling now, but you can find rest in Jesus. God is going to anoint your life with a supernatural grace, a favor that lightens the load and takes the pressure off. You’re going to accomplish more with less work. You’re going to flow right past what may have stopped you in the past.

All you need to do is to turn and go to Jesus with your burdens and He says He will give you rest. Learn and walk according to His ways and you’ll find rest for your soul.

PRAYER:
Father, thank You that when I go through seasons of struggle and pressure , I have Your promise of a coming anointing of ease. Thank You that Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light. I believe that Your grace will bring me through to victory. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

YOUR WORDS CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE : 19/3/2020

HIPI: THE GLORY DEVOTIONAL

Proverbs 15:4 – The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.

Many people have wounds from the past, wounds from people saying hurtful, judgmental words about them. You and I have something to offer them.

Our words can help heal the hurts and break the chains that are holding them back. Our words have the power to lift people up, to help them get through a challenge, to push them toward their destiny.

When you tell someone, “I love you,” you’re not just being kind; those are healing words. It might be just a simple word of encouragement or a compliment, such as “I’m praying for you” or “You look great today.” It’s no big deal to you, but to them it helps heal a wound. It lifts their spirits, causing them to believe in themselves.

Just letting people know that you care does more than you can imagine. You have the power to put someone on their feet, to keep them from falling into depression, to cause them to pursue their dream, to make them to have hope and believe again. Your words can bring someone to the saving knowledge of Christ. Your words, can make difference.

Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.- Colossians 4:6

PRAYER:
Father, thank You that You have given me the power of words to lift others up. All through the day, help me to speak kind words, offer compliments, give encouragement, and lift up those around me. I believe that as I lift others, You will lift me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Just Believe : 18/3/2020

Mark 5:36 – Overhearing what they said, Jesus told him, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”

A synagogue leader named Jairus came to Jesus and pleaded, “Will You please come to my house and heal my little daughter who’s dying?” Jesus said He would, but then was delayed to the point that news came that the girl had died. Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe.”

When Jesus arrived at the house, everyone was upset and crying. He said to them, “The child is not dead but asleep.” He went in and said to the girl, “Wake up,” and instantly she stood up and was perfectly well.

You may have dreams you’ve given up on, promises you think there’s no way they can happen now. You may have been calling on God, but it seems He has delayed and the situation is getting worse. The good news is, God is about to wake up what you thought was dead.

He’s going to bring to life dreams you’ve given up on. Now do your part and start believing, get your hopes up and stop dwelling on the negative and undesirable things you see around you. Your dreams are waking up right now and that situation you thought was dead is going to change.

PRAYER:
Gracious Heavenly Father, thank You that no matter what happens in my life, You have the final say. Thank You that I can get my hopes up and choose to not dwell on negative reports. I believe that You are waking up the promises and breathing life into my dreams. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Humbly Obey : 17/3/2020

HIPI: THE GLORY DEVOTIONAL

Like 5:6 – When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break.

We all have times when we know we’re supposed to do something but it doesn’t seem fair. It might be to forgive someone who did you wrong, help someone who never says thank you, refuse to compromise or lie when it seems as the only way out or honor your spouse’s repeated request to do something their way rather than your way. Everything on the inside will say, “No way! It isn’t fair.”

After Peter had fished all night and caught nothing, Jesus said to him, “Launch your boat into the deep and let down your nets.” Peter could have said, “Jesus, I’m an expert fisherman, and the fish are not there now.” Instead he humbled himself and said, “It doesn’t make sense, but at Your word I’m taking this step of faith.” When he did, he caught so many fish that his nets began to break.

If you’re going to reach your highest potential and enjoy that breakthrough you’ve been craving for, you have to humble yourself and do things you don’t understand. You need to let down your net (your pride, fear, selfish ambitions, etc) and do whatsoever Scripture commands of you even if it doesn’t make sense.

Your breakthrough is in your humble obedience.

PRAYER:
Father, thank You that there is breakthrough, healing, restoration, and abundance when I walk in humility and obey Your word to me. Help me to humble myself, swallow my pride, and do the thing You’re asking me to do even when I don’t understand. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

The Real You: 16/3/2020

HIPI: THE GLORY DEVOTIONAL

2 Corinthians 12:9 – But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

We live in a society that emphasises on image. We go through life trying to impress people, showing them that we’re strong, that we have it all together, etc. It’s good to carry ourselves with confidence, but sometimes we have such a need to keep up with an image that we put on a mask and start pretending.

We can’t let someone see that we have weaknesses, that we’re struggling in areas, and we don’t have all the answers. But the Scripture says that if we go around wearing masks, God’s power is not going to show up. For the scripture says “God’s power is made perfect in our weaknesses”. God won’t bless the ideal you, the pretending you, the masked you; He’s looking for the real you.

Remember that there’s power in vulnerability. When you empty yourself out, God can fill you. But if you’re full of yourself—acting, pretending, keeping up your image—there’s no room for God. If you’ll humble yourself and get real, pour out your heart and cry to God, HE will help you to grow.

PRAYER:
Compassionate Father, thank You that I don’t have to hide my weaknesses or mask my shortcomings. Thank You that Your power goes to work in me when I get real and honest. I humbly admit that I don’t have it all together, but I’m glad You’re still working on me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

God First : 15/3/2020

HIPI: THE GLORY DEVOTIONAL

Hebrews 11:6 – And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

The greatest key to living a life filled with God’s blessings and favor is to keep God in first place in your life. When you make it your highest priority to please Him, you can expect to live a blessed, fulfilled life. Notice who God rewards. Not people who half-heartedly seek Him or who only seek Him when they have a problem but those who earnestly seek Him.

God rewards people who diligently seek Him. Psalm 34:10 adds, “Those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.” When you seek God daily with your whole heart, you won’t be able to outrun the good things of God.

God has a reward that’s just waiting to be released to you, but you have to meet the demands of the reward. God makes it so easy: “If you will just seek Me—if you will get up in the morning and thank Me, read My Word, and make an effort to please Me—I will give you the reward.”

PRAYER:
Lord, thank You that I can come to You by faith, knowing that as I seek You, You will reward me. Thank You for the blessings and favor that are mine as I keep You in first place in my life. I believe that I will lack no good thing. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Being Your Best : 14/3/2020

HIPI: THE GLORY DEVOTIONAL

Hebrews 12:1 – Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

If we are going to live a victorious life in Christ, we have to be willing to deal with anything that is keeping us from being our best. It may be an addiction, a bad habit, immorality, pride, drunkenness, a hot temper, laziness, not treating others well, etc. God is always dealing with us about something, calling us higher, wanting you to be your best. But anytime we go higher, our flesh has to go lower.

If you have an area you struggle in—and we all do—don’t ignore it. Don’t pretend it’s not there or hope it just goes away. You will never conquer what you don’t confront. If you have a problem, get it out in the open.

When you have a humble attitude, in faith asking God for help, He will never let you down. If you do your part and deal with it, prayerfully making conscious efforts, God will do His part and help you overcome.

PRAYER:
Father, thank You for always calling me higher, to lay aside everything that keeps me from being my best. Help me to confront the areas where I struggle. I believe that with Your help, I can overcome and be victorious. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Don’t Grow Weary : 13/3/2020

HIPI: THE GLORY DEVOTIONAL

Galatians 6:9 – Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

God knows one challenge we all would face is weariness. It’s easy to get tired. Weary means to lose your sense of pleasure, to not feel the enjoyment you should.

You’re doing the right thing but not getting right results. Sometimes because the battle is taking longer than you thought, you become weary. Let me encourage you that your due season is on the way. Don’t let discouragement convince you to give up or settle where you are.

You may be dealing with battle fatigue today. You’re tired of fighting and don’t think you can go on. But you don’t have to do it on your own. God says, “Let him take hold of My strength.” It’s available, but you have to take hold of it.

When thoughts tell you, “It’s never going to change,” just say, “No, I know my time is coming. I’ve been armed with strength for this battle. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

PRAYER:
Father, thank You for that You are the Most High God and seated on Your throne. Help me to shake off my weariness and take hold of Your strength. I declare that You have armed me for the battle I am to fight and that I am strong. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
