“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with
God. For it is written, He takes the wise in their own
craftiness.” 1 Cor 3:19
Personally I think people should not in any wise force their opinions on anyone. Say what you have to say and if the heart or ear hearing is a fertile soil it will grow. Men of God or Pastors and all other titles are just carpenters of God’s building project which has just one Foundation; Jesus Christ. As it concerns tithing I don’t get the fuse how people say it’s in the Old Testament and preachers use it to enrich themselves etc and all the other babblings.
Now what is in the old that is not in the new that produces results? We saw healing in the old and still in the new. We were alerted of the out pour of the spirit; evident in speaking in tongues and yet people will tell you, the real me is the spirit part not the flesh but that tongues thing I don’t buy. So I wonder how we use flesh to relate with the spirit.
How convenient we choose parts of the Word we want to make bed with (Offering is okay but no not my 10%). I am sure that because Mathew 6 calls our attention to when we pray, when we fast and when we give, oh that’s it, no mention of when we tithe so I guess it’s some made up idea, so I wonder if God was expected to recopy the Old Testament in the new. We are followers of Abraham by name (the blessed, faithful, friend of God) not be action (tithing) etc
“Should people cheat God? Yet you have cheated me!
“But you ask, ‘What do you mean? When did we ever cheat you?’
“You have cheated me of the tithes and offerings due to me. (Mal 3:8)
Begin by being honest. Do honest people rob God? But you rob me day after day.
“You ask, ‘How have we robbed you?’
“The tithe and the offering—that’s how! (Mal 3:8)
He is the same yesterday today and forever. My point is this, His Word is forever and heaven and earth will pass away but the Word is on for live. Agree partially or fully judgement is near for us all. Let’s just be careful we do not lead people astray.
Love you always Gis
I even see tithing as God’s way of making us financially disciplined and unselfish. If you can give a portion of your salary to Him (whom you can’t see but believe he receives) it’s easier to give to causes and people you can see. It’s just funny that people dont realize it will come back to them. Simply because God says so, and He doesn’t lie and He wouldn’t cheat us

So true Oluchee, I like the new perspective you have opened me up too. God bless You. Personally i will keep honoring God with my tithe and let those who say it’s an old testament thing do what works for them but for me it work.
Stay blessed dear
